My name is Kate. I'm a Canadian currently marooned on the West Coast of the U.S.—specifically, Oregon. (Yes, I fully admit to playing on our shared, overly enthusiastic sense of nationalism… “Sorry.”)
Earlier this year, I wrote and recorded a holiday song called Canadian Christmas—which, shockingly, is about, well… Canadian things in December.
May I ask you to give it a listen?
In my dream scenario, you’re charmed by its simple, catchy je ne sais quoi and casually drop it into a conversation with someone perched atop the music industry pyramid. Or maybe you yell, “Put this in a commercial! A movie! A toilet paper jingle!” (Honestly, I’m open to all possibilities.)
This project—a song and an album—was a bucket list item for me. And this letter? This is me being brave.
Thanks for considering it.
